Humanitarian Assistance

Toward a civilization of love

Emergency response

Caritas responds practically to humanitarian crises such as natural disasters, conflict and the effects of climate change. We save lives, relieve suffering and help rebuild livelihoods and communities in the longer-term. This allows women and men in the poorest and most vulnerable communities to survive and recover from crises and to live in a safe and secure environment.

Caritas Bamenda has been providing support and recovery to victims of varied disasters such as floods, inter-tribal wars and now to IDPs from the conflict in the North West and South West.   In war theatres Caritas Bamenda provides protection to children, fight against gender base violence, and support to refugees as well as displaced persons. To achieve this we focus on the following areas of intervention;

  1. -      Shelter, settlement & non-food items
  2. -      Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH)
  3. -      Food Security & Livelihoods
  4. -      Protection mainstreaming
  5. -      Multi-purpose cash programming
  6. -      Cash based interventions
