Our work

Boyo

Serving communities across Boyo Division

Boyo Division, in the north of the Archdiocese, is a largely rural and mountainous area where farming is the main livelihood. The crisis has disrupted movement, markets and schooling, and has displaced families both within the division and from it.

What we do here

Our work in Boyo focuses on food assistance and agricultural support for displaced and host households, alongside water and sanitation and protection activities.

Working through the parishes

Parish structures and community-based organisations make our presence possible in areas that are difficult to reach. They help identify the most vulnerable households and give communities a route to raise concerns about our work.

Challenges

Terrain, road conditions and insecurity all restrict access, particularly in the rainy season. Where we cannot reach a community directly, we work through local structures rather than withdraw.

Stand with the families we serve

A gift to Caritas Bamenda becomes food on a table, a roof over a displaced family, clean water in a village, a child back in school.
