Menchum

Menchum Division covers a wide, largely rural area of the North West. Distances are long, infrastructure is limited, and communities here were already among the least served before the crisis added displacement to existing hardship.

What we do here

Our activities in Menchum include food assistance, essential household items, water and sanitation and support to farming livelihoods.

Reaching remote communities

Many communities in Menchum are a long way from any service. We work with parish networks and community volunteers so that assistance and information reach beyond the roadside settlements where it is easiest to deliver.

Host communities

Communities in Menchum have absorbed displaced families from neighbouring areas. Our assistance deliberately includes vulnerable host households, because targeting only displaced people creates resentment and leaves real need unmet.
